Fall Intern - Royalties/Copyright - NYC only
An internship in the Royalties/Copyright Department at Bank Robber Music / Rough Trade Publishing would provide an invaluable experience into the inner workings of both a music licensing company and an independent music publisher. An intern in this department would assist with all aspects of royalty processing and copyright registration. Duties would include, but not be limited to, the organization and tracking of incoming royalty payments, copyright research and manual registrations, drafting and tracking mechanical licenses, and various additional research projects.
Requirements: We're looking for a student who is enthusiastic about the music industry, with a specialized interest in the world of copyright and royalties. Previous knowledge of copyright and royalties is not required, but is a plus. We're looking for an intern with a great attitude and a passion for music. We work mostly with indie rock bands, so it's always nice when an intern shares our enthusiasm for the acts that we work with (listed on both the Bank Robber Music and Rough Trade Music/House of Hassle artist pages).
An intern should be very computer literate, with knowledge of the basic Microsoft Office programs (mainly Word & Excel). Interns are required to bring their own laptop and will need to know how to work on a Mac, even if they don't own one.
Salary: We are looking for an intern to work two days a week (any combination of Monday-Friday), for 6-8 hours each day. Interns are not required to be enrolled in school during the semester in which they wish to intern. This internship is only available in exchange for school credit. There will be no monetary compensation… but plenty of snacks.
