Job Summary: Audio Engineer
The person in this position will have experience as an audio engineer, sound designer, music editor, midi programmer and audio mixer. Audio Engineer is responsible for integrating audio into a proprietary game development environment, editing existing library music tracks, enhancing library music tracks with soft synths and samples, creating new midi melodic elements, and creating mastered mixes. Gaming experience preferred but not mandatory. Please provide digital audio link demonstrating compositional skills with resume. Resumes without audio examples will not be reviewed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Researches new sound technologies/recording techniques and incorporates them into audio productions
• Acquires audio asset requests from Producers for audio productions
• Create DAW workflow templates
• Maintains sample and sound libraries
• Spot audio files to movie clips for editing/sound design/mixing
• Create/update & maintain sample and sound libraries
• Composes original music
• Creates sound design
• Organize and saves game audio data to Smart SVN
• Record live instruments
• Create appropriate original music mixes in different styles based on game design
• Meet with game producers for audio pre-production
• Casts voice talent
• Directs and or records voice-over talent
• Files sound library contract with legal department
• Edits and enhances library music tracks
• Edits and enhances library music tracks
• Experiences with soft synths and samplers
• Open to taking direction
Other duties as required
• Assists audio director
• Maintains audio department scheduling
Qualification Requirements:
Training and/or Experience:
• Five to ten years audio mixing experience
• Compositional skills, soft synth and sampler knowledge, audio editing experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Pro Tools operator
• Proficient with Pro Tools editing, mixing and sound design
• Strong technical ability
• Proficient spotting audio to picture
• Good communications skills
• Proficient with file manipulation, such as sample rate conversion, and file format conversation
• Gaming experience preferred but not mandatory.
Education:
• High School/ GED Required
• College courses in music composition or keyboard performance preferred but not mandatory
