Film Composer's Technician
A film-scoring studio in Santa Monica is looking to hire a full-time technician immediately. Please send a resume, references and cover letter.
Requirements:
· At least 2 years of experience doing technical support in a studio environment
· Knowledge of audio terminology
· Basic understanding of music theory
Job Responsibilities:
· Daily setup and upkeep of hardware and software in the studio
· Routine maintenance of musical instruments, tube equipment, etc.
· Setup for in-house recording sessions
· Audio tracking, editing, restoration and sampling
· Project/sessions organization, track categorization and stem planning
· Workflow optimization, solution implementation
· Direct communication of technical specifications and workflow details with internal and external parties
· Picture turnover processing, including work with change notes, EDL's, etc.
Necessary Skills:
· Strong technical, engineering, and production skills
· Must have previous experience working in a film scoring studio atmosphere
· Fluent knowledge of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, and Vienna Ensemble Pro
· Signal flow, tracking, printing synth masters (pre-lays)/orch-slaves, synchronizing audio and picture
· Analog and digital studio maintenance and troubleshooting experience
· Available to work flexible hours
· Take initiative
· Follow through with tasks
· Strong Multitasking skills
· Good sense of task prioritization
· Perform well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment under tight deadlines
Preferred:
· Strong knowledge of film and music terminology
