Search for Manager of Development jobs in New York-NY
Busy NY production company with active slate of non-scripted series and formats seeks Manager of Development to join team. Position works closely with VP of Development and CEO. Job will focus heavily on creating pitch decks in Keynote, PowerPoint and Photoshop and in writing one sheets. Job will also help manage overall development work. Applicant must commit to at least a one-year period.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare/layout of pitch decks and drafting of show treatments. (50%)
- Manage development slate producing weekly updates for internal and agency meetings. (5%)
- Footage search and idea research for development (20%)
- Development of new series, format and content. (15%)
- Provide general production and development management for ongoing projects (10%).
Core Position Skills:
- Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills: You should be able to write everything from one sheets to pitch decks to copy for a voiceover. And be the last line of defense against typos.
- Strong creative design skills: We want pitch decks that tell a story and have a look and someone who has ideas and skills to make that happen.
- Competitive research: You know what's working in the marketplace that we are selling to - what's on the air now, what's failed and what's coming.
- Ability to think flexibly: it might be a dating show today but it can be a cooking show tomorrow. Be creative enough and it can be.
- Ability to work independently: You'll get the ball and you'll be expected to run with it.
Necessary Education and Work Experience:
• Previous Agency experience preferred.
• Previous entertainment industry experience a must.
• Bachelors Degree or higher.
This is a development position with real responsibility but also real opportunity to grow.
