Work with others to achieve departmental goals; including administration processes, customer service to internal and external customers, participation in projects, and other various duties.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Participate in administration processes including, but not limited to, writer and publisher affiliation, publisher administration agreements, writer and publisher account maintenance, royalty assignments, and bank loans.
• Assist with research and correspondence relating to writer and publisher account terminations.
• Effectively communicate to internal and external customers BMI’s policies and procedures as it relates to administration, account maintenance, the registration of works, the payment of royalties, and online services.
• Receive, research, and respond to administration, registration, royalty, works and online services inquiries from internal and external customers.
• Perform written and telephone inquiries to affiliates and external customers.
• Review and manage writer and publisher affiliate catalogs to ensure the accurate distribution of royalties.
• Research and prepare royalty adjustment requests.
• Answer daily inquiries from affiliates through web mailboxes.
• Work on special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in the music industry. Working knowledge of the music industry and publishing business. Experience working with and maintaining database systems and reports, as well as, word processing and spreadsheets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to establish a constructive and informative relationship with employees, management, writers and publishers.
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse employee population and with all levels of staff and management.
• Ability to work independently and with good judgment.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
• Strong typing and proofreading skills.
