POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible designing and delivering new data products embedded in multiple business applications. Gathers and analyzes large volumes of data, evaluates scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and creates tools for decision making. Comfortable in using advanced statistical data modeling techniques and tools.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for discovering information and insights across multiple business areas
• Responsible for using analytic techniques, like advanced data visualizations, to understand and improve BMI’s songwriter, composer, publisher and business partner experiences
• Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high dimensionality data from multiple sources
• Work closely with internal business leaders to identify and answer important questions, using data, that help improve outcomes for BMI
• Interpret problems and provide solutions using appropriate data modeling techniques
• Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to evaluate how our users interact with both our consumer and business products
• Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data
• Analyze and interpret the results of product experiments
• Develop prototypes for new data ideas; taking initiative and breaking down barriers to achieve solutions
• Creates reports / dashboard using automated production techniques that include alarm / alert systems using control charts and other statistical techniques
• Applies cost implications to data trends with favorable or unfavorable impacts for business leaders
• Communicate findings to product managers and development groups
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with enterprise data architecture, data modeling, ETL, Oracle relational databases and high volume transaction processing systems, preferably in a custom software development environment
• Minimum seven years’ experience with SQL Server, Oracle RAC, data presentation, query optimization, indexing, replication to business users
• Minimum three years’ experience in large data environment (10 TB of data preferred)
Skills
and Abilities:
• Expert knowledge of SQL, especially for SQL Server / Oracle
• Proficiency with high volume OLTP Databases and large data warehouse environments
• Proficiency with DB2 highly preferred
• Proven track record of full life cycle successes from inception to successful completion and production support
• Knowledge of SQL DW in Azure is a plus
