POSITION SUMMARY: Primary contact for technical operations in the Los Angeles office. Performs technical support for end user workstations, mobile devices, printers and peripherals in the LA office and remote technical support for end users in other offices. Also works in cooperation with Network Operations, Telecom and General Services to assist as their onsite “hands” when performing maintenance on their respective LA-based assets.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Identify and initiate resolutions to service requests concerning systems and operator problems with all physical workstations and laptops (Windows and Macs), mobile devices, Windows virtual workstations and Enterprise multi-function printers, including engaging with service provider as needed for additional maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate the installation and implementation of office automation hardware and software according to department standards and procedures.
• Install software, hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, etc.
• Maintain software and hardware to provide manual upgrades as necessary and ensure appropriate security levels are maintained.
• Uphold the enterprise policy guidelines, as well as, recommend new and improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service to enterprise users of personal computers.
• Maintain current technical expertise in the rapidly changing technology of microcomputers and utilizes state-of-the-art techniques when implementing office automation solutions.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with all enterprise departments to optimize working relationships and communication.
• Perform physical and/or technical tasks, with the direction of personnel from other departments (including but not limited to Network Operations, Telecom and General Services), when those departments need immediate attention to an asset but have no onsite presence.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) with a recommended emphasis in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
• 5 years providing technical support in a corporate environment.
• 3 years supporting Dell hardware (Optiplex and Latitude preferred).
• 3 years supporting Android and iOS mobile operating systems.
• 3 years supporting an enterprise level multi-function printer (Kyocera preferred).
• 1 years supporting MacOS in a corporate environment.
Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency in installing and supporting various types of PC hardware and peripherals, Microsoft applications and operating systems.
• Familiarity with network topology and the ability to discern networking issues when troubleshooting reported issues.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in various forms (written, oral or diagram).
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in IT situations.
• Strong communication skills: written, verbal, comprehension.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact and present IT information to employees and outside clients.
• Good mathematical skills.
• The employee must be available 24/7 and must maintain a personal telephone number where they may be reached at all times.
