BET Networks is currently seeking a Director, Media Sales for the West Coast Region to join this successful advertising sales team. The Director will focus on managing and increasing revenue for BET Networks including BET, Centric and BET Digital.
Responsibilities
The Director, Media Sales for the West Coast Region will be an experienced and innovative media professional who will be part of a team helping to grow the overall network advertising sales, sponsorship and digital revenues. Our ideal candidate will have a proven capability in the area of effective niche selling strategies in lieu of traditional ''ratings-only'' type selling.
Key to the Director's success will be providing solid sales management and leadership for the West Coast team. S/he will also function as an innovative BET brand consultant to new and existing clients to secure additional revenues for BET Networks, Centric and BET Digital.
The Director must be equally as skilled in leadership and management as s/he is in brand positioning and increasing revenue. Specifically, s/he will:
Grow the network's sales efforts with targeted clients and identify opportunities to up sell and cross sell.
Communicate the value of the BET brand and its content to agencies and advertisers.
Create and implement brand strategies that resonate with the network's current and potential clients.
Generate revenue that meets or exceeds the network's budgets/business plan.
Nurture, help support and build the West Coast sales team as network revenues continue to grow.
Create comprehensive packages for ad agencies and direct advertisers to sell digital inventory, including mobile & video.
Participate in the Upfront and scatter negotiations with agencies/clients as needed.
Direct and foster revenue relationships at the client/marketing levels as well as with advertising agencies servicing and negotiating through both the account and media teams.
Continually identify, define, and quantify both existing and new revenue opportunities.
Locate non-traditional advertising budgets as well as existing media budgets and sell BET Networks as the advertiser of choice for a very desirable audience.
Manage and monitor sales staff and keep abreast of budget goals and achievement of goals.
Responsibility is to ensure the network meets client objectives and exceeds revenue goals.
Will be a client-focused executive who has experience, and existing relationships, with clients as well as in the agency/media buying community.
Basic Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
8+ years of media related experience in television, advertising or with a brand.
Additional Qualifications
The ability to structure deals and develop strong client relationships as part of one the nation's leading cable networks serving the African-American community.
Strong communication skills to present to agencies and clients.
Experience working as part of a successful sales or marketing organization and growing a business portfolio.
A track record of successfully increasing sales revenues or driving positive results.
An entrepreneurial spirit and resilient attitude toward exceeding goals.
A confident, tenacious, diplomatic, and collaborative style.
Must possess a solid understanding of advertising, sponsorship or media and be a results-driven professional.
Experience working at an agency in a Media Supervisor/Media Director role and in marketing and/or sales for a major brand.
