JOB PURPOSE
The VP, Brand Management and Sales Planning supports brand development, inventory management and sales planning to deliver action plans for the development of a diverse retailer and brand base.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identifies and monitor industry marketplace trends and opportunities to create strategic market development opportunities for key brands. Identifies brand demand elasticity and quantify market growth opportunity and potential gap fills.
• Develops programs to deliver brand growth by working directly with the retail development team.
• Presents strategic insights directly to licensees and/or retail customers to support selling initiatives, and sell-in of major initiatives at multiple levels of the organization.
• Provides retail development team with account specific opportunities & action plans that drive retailer & BBC priorities.
• Creates customized retailer specific selling stories leveraging all available selling materials & enablers.
• Contributes to innovation sell-in by presenting consumer/brand/category story and retailer SKU optimization recommendations.
• Analyzes & presents post-promotion analyses for internal and external reviews, quantifying impact to brand and retailer.
• Delivers annual fiscal plans and assist in developing quarterly reforecasts based on solid performance analysis. Drives brand and retail growth by implementing best-in-class solutions.
Planning: Works closely with the buying teams to create inventory buying plans; identify areas of opportunity and create appropriate inventory plans to address; develop open-to-buy and product lifecycle management framework s/processes; improve and leverage predictive modeling capabilities.
Inventory/Merchandising Analytics: Delivers ongoing insights and heuristics that optimize sourcing, creative, merchandising and operations; develop new capabilities to understand and drive event and SKU profitability while maintaining high service levels.
REQUIREMENTS
• The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) with 8 years relevant experience.
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in Windows applications and database management tools. Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Solid knowledge of Syndicated POS and Consumer data (Videoscan/Rentrak or similar - IRI/Nielsen) platforms.
• Proficiency in retail math. Predictive modeling, and forecasting experience, applied statistics, multivariate testing.
• Exceptional analytic and quantitative skills demonstrated via retail, investment banking or consulting roles.
• Strong desire and aptitude to be hands-on with data, analytics and business intelligence solutions.
• Comfortable presenting ideas and concepts to groups of varying seniority and levels within an organization; ability to contribute in a cross-functional team environment. Teamwork is essential in this role, as this person will work very closely with the account call lead as well as brand teams.
