Benefits Director
Awesomeness TV is looking for an exceptional Benefits Director to oversee our corporate and partner benefit programs. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs as well as the strategic analysis of future programs and changes. The Benefits Director provides excellent employee service and makes recommendations to improve existing benefits plans, programs and processes, investigates new benefits programs, and performs benefits administration as well as provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs.

Responsibilities:
Research and Development
• Conduct research of employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value
• Oversee the day to day management of the broker relationship and the benefits plan renewal process
• Examines possible plan design or benefit cost changes
• Works with Head of HR to develop global benefits strategy and plan design
Plan Administration and Compliance
• Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators
• Directs the transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration to keep plans running smoothly
• Investigates discrepancies and provides information and solutions for non-routine situations
• Ensures compliance with government regulations and the timeliness and accuracy of required filings
Data Processing and Functional administration
• Directs coordinator and payroll on daily benefits processing including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability and leave
• Validates and reconciles monthly invoices and the preparation for payments for ad-hoc plan
Evaluation, Measurement, Audit
• Organizes the analysis of the current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience and competitive trends in benefits programs and identifies the company's stance
• Oversees plan audits, testing and review
• Surveys industry trends and conducts internal benefits surveys to provide insights and recommendations on plans
Communication & Training
• Develops and maintains tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package
• Designs and distributes materials for benefit communications including leave and claim related correspondence
ACA Compliance and Coordination
• Assure company compliance with provisions of the Affordable Care Act.
• Supervise preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies.
• Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits, and report necessary or suggested changes to management.
• Coordinate company benefits with government-sponsored programs.
Leave Administration
• Administers all aspects of leave and workers' compensation programs. Provides extensive case management and coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims.
• Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, USERRA, etc.)
• Manages STD/LTD programs and vendor relationships. Partners with payroll to ensure STD benefits are properly coordinated with applicable state disability benefits.
Qualifications:
• 7 -10 years demonstrated / recognized experience in a Benefits program & design experience
• Thorough knowledge of plan design and benefit contract language
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), excellent oral and written communication, attention to detail, organization, time management and presentation skills
• Experience coordinating the annual benefit renewal and open enrollment process.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities
• Able to confidentially maintain personal information
• Understands and respects the sensitive nature of information and manages this responsibly to ensure issues are handled discreetly, effectively and efficiently
• Legal right to work in the United States
