Publicist--Major Role
The main goal is to generate an ''advance buzz'' in the media and with consumers for clients' theatrical releases. Create excitement and build momentum in order to assure there will be a strong interest in client titles by generating both quality of impact and quantity of impressions.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
1. Create Publicity Plans
• Research and brainstorm for pitch angles
• Participate in project brainstorming for plan development
• Assist Director of Publicity in creation of final marketing plan
2. Develop Press Materials
• Compile assets from clients (scripts, credits/cast list, synopses, artwork, EPK transcripts)
• Coordinate trailer transcreation
• Coordinate press kit including notes translation
• Coordinate EPK development including, when applicable, interviews, sound bites, integration of English trailer for final Spanish EPK
• Insure EPK shipment
• Create email blasts of press materials
3. Coordinate press junkets and events with client
• Invite and confirm press attendance
• Assist in coordination of the event and coverage
4. Fast Breaking (Television), Fast-Breaking (Print/Online/Radio), Long-Lead (Magazines)
• Pitch email writing
• Pitch email distribution
• Pitch Spanish-speaking talent for interviews (live, phone, taped)
• Compile talent requests
• Coordinate talent interviews
5. Create and maintain weekly status reports for client
6. Assist Director of Publicity in producing opening day final report including recap of all activities by noon of Friday opening.
7. Create clipping report from newspapers and broadcast compilation DVD monitoring for client - no longer than 30 days post opening.
8. Create air-checks and provide tune-in alerts to client
Other Areas of Responsibility
• Attend all appropriate client meetings and conference calls.
• Continually look to develop and maintain media/press contacts.
**Must be fluent in Spanish**
