POST PRODUCTION ENGINEER
Documentary production company with in-house post production department seeks experienced, highly technical Post Production Engineer for its Hollywood office. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise to support the editing and post-production of broadcast and film projects, from ingest through finishing (HD through 4K).
Responsibilities:
• Providing first level of technical support for all editorial and post production operations
• Supporting Final Cut Pro, Avid and Premiere edit stations including build-out, configuration and troubleshooting
• Supporting shared storage systems over fiber optic and 10GbE networks
• Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and routine and preventive maintenance of all equipment, including tape decks, routers, servers, encoders, graphics and editing systems
• Supporting DI workflows including: digital dailies, editorial preparation, conforming, color finishing and film deliverables
• Researching, recommending and implementing new post production technologies, including beta testing, writing procedures, and training junior staff members in proper operation
• Managing projects, prioritizing workflows and documenting post-production procedures
• Managing file management of media assets
• Managing network users and groups; assigning permissions
• Communicating with all Post Supervisors, Editors and Assistant Editors as needed
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience performing support in a similar environment
• Expertise supporting Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, et al), Resolve, Scratch, ProTools workstations in shared storage environments
• Expertise with Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating systems
• Experience with DI workflows, element turnover, LTO archiving and restoration, debayering and conforming
• Expert knowledge of broadcast and cinema technical standards and deliverables, including DCP packages
• Must have strong project management, multi-tasking and organizational skills
