OVERVIEW:
Nationally televised dog-training series is looking for a Senior Field Producer to help oversee the production of its third season. This person will manage all aspects of preparing for and shooting up to 26 episodes of this half-hour reality series.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Coordinating and producing daily shoots at the show's West San Fernando Valley training facility along with multiple field shoots each week throughout the Los Angeles area, which will occasionally be produced on weekends.
• Working with featured talent and co-executive producers to create storylines and episode formats and to identify potential shoot locations for certain segments. Responsible for creating physical episode outlines and ensuring that all scenes & beats are shot per the approved outline.
• Brainstorming creative ways to incorporate sponsor-provided products within show segments and carrying out those integrations once they've been approved.
• Preparing interview questions and conducting interviews on a daily basis with the show's talent and with its featured guests.
• Creating & Distributing Daily schedules & taking charge on shoot days to ensure that planned production activities are produced in an efficient and affective manner.
• Managing a 10 person production crew & tracking their corresponding work days. Supervising all staff members to ensure that their production duties are completed properly, including those crew members dedicated to the maintenance of the show's central training facility.
• Approving daily production purchases and keeping track of expenses in predetermined categories including (but not limited to) props, craft services and location costs.
• Tracking & managing the visual continuity of the show, whose episodes and segments are often taped out of order, while paying special attention to featured locations, wardrobe items, grooming styles & props.
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
• Experience managing all aspects of physical production and at least 4-5 years of relevant, hands-on FIELD producing experience.
• A proven track record creating storylines in either reality or lifestyle programming.
• Experience interviewing talent and featured guests with the purpose of getting clean, concise sound-bites for broadcast.
• Strong leadership & communication skills along with a calm, positive personality.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work, and tight deadlines, while embracing pressure & conflict with a smile on your face.
REQUIRED AVAILABILITY:
• Pre-Production Start Date: Early APRIL 2015
• Production Start Date: Early MAY 2015
• Expected Conclusion of Production: Early-Mid NOVEMBER 2015
