OVERVIEW:
Nationally televised dog-training series is looking for a Production Assistant to assist staff members and technical crew with the day-to-day operations of this half-hour reality series during its third season. Production will take place primarily at the show's West San Fernando Valley training facility, but will also include multiple field shoot locations throughout the Los Angeles area. Production is generally limited to Monday-Friday, however there are occasional weekend shoots.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Maintaining the show's central training facility by prepping shooting locations, cleaning animal living quarters and keeping the production office, kitchen area and the entire property clean and fully stocked with necessary supplies. Duties will include sweeping, picking-up waste, emptying trash & recycling bins, watering plants, doing dishes and stocking the refrigerator & supply cabinets. The production assistant will also be responsible for keeping the production van clean, fueled up and regularly serviced as well as washing, drying and steaming the talent's wardrobe.
• Transporting dogs, props, production equipment, wardrobe items, set decorations, craft services and crew members to various locations throughout the Los Angeles area using the company's production van and/or your own personal vehicle. Once on location, the production assistant will be responsible for unpacking the production van, setting up craft services and assisting with the set-up of cameras, lighting equipment and other technical equipment. The production assistant will also be responsible for taking food orders as well as picking-up meals and snacks at local stores and restaurants. At the beginning and/or end of each production day, the production assistant will be responsible for transporting external hard drives with show footage between the training facility and the company's post production offices in the East San Fernando Valley.
• Shopping in-person or online for various production supplies including set decorations, props, office supplies, production equipment, craft services, pet supplies, wardrobe items and miscellaneous rentals. Organizing receipts for various production expenses and putting together detailed cost reports for the show's production management team.
• Posting schedules and public notices at different shoot locations, then handing out & collecting signed on-camera releases during appropriate shoots.
• Assisting dog-care & training staff with the feeding, medicating and general care of animals.
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
• Experience as a production assistant on a TV show; preferably a reality or lifestyle TV series.
• Willingness to get dirty on the job and the ability to lift heavy set-pieces and equipment.
• General tech know-how & familiarity with Microsoft Office & Google Docs
• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance. Should also have a general knowledge of the greater Los Angeles area in order to navigate to destinations efficiently.
• Ability to multi-task and perform duties quickly and accurately; friendly and professional demeanor at all times; must be a team player.
