You are an experienced copywriter who has successfully demonstrated a strong ability to connect with customers through innovative storytelling. The right candidate will be an enthusiastic problem solver, who has a passion for creating original content through collaboration with a creative team of designers, design technologists, prototypers, and video experts. Must possess a proven ability to influence those around them with a clear vision for copywriting and dedication to excellence. Has demonstrated success translating business goals into compelling content and inspiring stories. Starts with the customer in mind and understands the powerful role messaging can play in successful brand awareness and an engaging shopping experience.
At Amazon we continually look for opportunities to invent on behalf of our customers helping them to find and discover virtually anything they want to buy online. We launched our first advertising program in 2006 and since then have built a portfolio of advertising products enabling advertisers to reach customers on Amazon sites, mobile web and apps, Fire Tablet, Fire TV, Echo, and on thousands of external publishers via our web and mobile ad network. We've developed products that leverage Amazon's strength as a world class ecommerce platform and have integrated advertising into the shopping experience from first discovery to purchase.
We are looking for an experienced and talented Senior Copywriter who wants to connect brands on Amazon with Amazon's customers through innovative storytelling.
Responsibilities
• Create compelling and innovative narratives and campaign messaging across digital media, video, mobile, and audio platforms that connect brands to customers in collaboration with creative directors.
• Translate marketing strategies into creative execution, partnering with business/marketing teams to ensure that content meets brand and business objectives.
• Strong ability to sell concepts to senior and executive level internal and external stakeholders at a senior level via mocks, prototypes, storyboards, and written documentation.
• Distill complex creative concepts to understandable design solutions and clearly rationalize strategic thinking and design rationale to stakeholders.
• Understand usability and design principles that help drive successful campaigns.
• Analyze marketing challenges that meet measurable business goals and requirements.
• Ability to work across multiple teams through influence to drive projects to completion.
• Follow market trends and apply a keen understanding of leading edge consumer engagement experiences to make decisions that will maximize the impact and effectiveness of content.
• Understand and respond to customer data, steering the strategy of future creative directions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 8 years of relevant ad campaign copywriting and TV/radio scripting.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables at one time to meet aggressive deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and grow an audience through the use of compelling video and ad content.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with a wide range of creative talent, both inside and outside of Amazon.
• Ability to facilitate the creative development process, including providing clear direction, and producing work cost effectively and on schedule.
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced production and agency environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge and experience with broadcast, branded and digital content creation, including video, advertising, and social media.
• A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to turn raw ideas into beautiful and compelling content for consumers.
• Expert understanding of video and ad formats as well as production process.
• Ability to work cross-team and manage feedback from the creative team, business partners, campaign managers, and marketers.
• Unwavering attention to detail and an acute awareness that everything counts.
• Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business priorities.
• Demonstrated business acumen and customer-centricity.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership skills in providing clear creative direction, motivation and inspiration with creative teams.
• Experience in mentoring and managing copywriters and junior copywriters.
