Residuals Analyst
Job Description:
Here at Amazon Studios we are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with long-term interest in Entertainment finance. Applicant must possess keen logical thinking capabilities and attentive to details. Strong comfort interpreting contracts and willingness to learn/absorb new concepts is pertinent. Above average organizational skills are necessary, as position will have a high level of autonomy.
The residuals analyst will work closely with production, business affairs, legal, and accounting departments on various projects. Primary residual responsibilities consist of handling series and theatrical set up, interpretation of union agreements, and working with outside Payroll Company ensuring payments are in line with collective bargaining agreements.
Primary Duties:
• Develop relationships with internal teams tracking production progression of television series and theatrical motion pictures.
• Monitor/update release schedules for all productions.
• Work with external production accountants gathering all necessary documentation to complete set-up process.
• Assist with quarterly reporting and review of guild calculations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret production and distribution contracts for residual liability.
• Work with management creating ultimate accruals and adjustment as seen necessary.
Other duties:
• Research guild claims for correctness.
• Work with internal departments for system testing and implementation.
• Ad Hoc analysis upon request.
• Various projects.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or business administration.
Ability to work in team environment with many different business partners.
Experience reading and understanding abstract legal agreements.
Advanced level of excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
Intermediate knowledge of SAG, DGA, WGA, AFM, and IATSE union agreements.
Basic knowledge of UBCP/ACTRA, BAE, WGC, and DGC union agreements.
Minimum of 4 years' experience in studio residuals.
Experience with Oracle a plus.
