Full Time Paid Internship
Amazon Studios, the original film and television development and production arm of Amazon.com, is the wheelhouse behind the series Transparent, Alpha House, and Betas on Amazon Prime. We are different from most production companies in two ways: 1) we have an open submission pipeline and 2) our customers are an integral part of the decision making process at every stage of development. With more than 20,000 movie scripts and 5,000 series pilots online, Amazon Studios now has 32 film projects and 35 television series in development.
Amazon Studios is seeking bright, multitasking, dynamic, and self-motivated interns to support the Feature Film department. This is a paid part-time position for the Spring semester. In this internship you will be given the responsibility to act as a Development Coordinator which will allow you the opportunity to further expand your capabilities and network. The successful candidate(s) will possess the ability to complete high volumes of complex tasks and projects quickly with little to no guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and efficiently and creatively solve difficult or complex problems that affect people within the business. The candidate will also have great attention to detail and organization skills, as well as the ability to switch gears at a moment's notice. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is key. This position is located in Santa Monica, California.
Key responsibilities:
• Writing coverage after reading feature screenplays and series pilots.
• Assist in managing the project submission process.
• Pitching material to executives.
• Covering executives' phones/desks when needed.
• Researching short films and up-and-coming talent.
• Updating company script and DVD databases.
• Assist in the coordination of development, production, and post-production logistics.
• Participate in planning special events when requested.
• Facilitate various deliveries and pick-ups.
Qualifications
• Must be a current student seeking a Bachelors or Masters in Film or other entertainment studies.
• Must be eligible to receive college credit for this internship.
• Ability to work 25 hours per week.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, as well as a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Sharepoint.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
