Help create the future of digital entertainment with Amazon Video! Amazon's Prime Video team is looking for an analytical and driven candidate to join our Content Acquisition team in Los Angeles. This is an important role focused on helping Prime Video assess and evaluate content for our digital service. It will involve attaining an excellent knowledge of the PV service and digital video landscape, and applying this knowledge to inform decisions the content team will make to acquire content on our service. This Content Acquisition Manager will support and manage relationships and contracts with our current content partners, identify new content sources, and manage extremely complex, high-pressure content licensing projects. This employee will utilize a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as finance, operations, legal, marketing, and product to coordinate information sharing and address incoming requests. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple priorities, is cool under pressure, and isn't afraid to role his/her sleeves up as needed. S/he must have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate thoughts and ideas, both written and verbally, and think outside of his/her direct sphere of responsibility.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist in developing and executing strategy content strategy for Movie programming in the U.S.
• Develop and document acquisition plans, financial metrics and goals for management
• Lead licensing negotiations, including content selection, financial analysis, forecasting, and technical requirements
• Support and manage relationships with content providers.
• Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, public relations, finance, operations, etc.)
• Use behavior and consumption data to drive continuous improvement
• Work closely with Amazon Video team leaders to develop new services and product offerings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor degree
• 4 years of experienced in a high volume account management, licensing or finance role.
• Experience negotiating license or business development agreements in high pressure environments
• Excellent written communication and organizational skills
• Excellent data analysis and quantitative skills
• Ability to adapt to a quickly changing, fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA a plus
• Content licensing and/or business development experience, both domestically and internationally
• Knowledge of digital video landscape, including solid understanding of digital video distribution technologies
• Strong passion and knowledge about movies & TV
