A Senior Publicist is required to work on the following duties:
• Implement publicity campaigns for A-list clients in the entertainment, brand, and lifestyle category
• Cultivate relationships with a wide variety of press including film critics, columnists, feature writers, bloggers, editors, television/radio show hosts, producers and reporters in order to secure features, event coverage, and top photo placement
• Manage strategic placement of media to generate excitement for film releases, openings and launches through press coverage, traditional and online media
• Draft press releases and media alerts
• Create necessary materials and collateral for clients, when needed
• Write comprehensive reports of all activities documented with press breaks and any additional collateral for clients on a weekly basis or as needed
• Attend new business/client meetings as senior team member, when need
General Responsibilities include:
• Develop strong client relationships and always meet client deadlines
• Manage invoicing and charges in online billing system
• Participate in brainstorming sessions with extended national team
• Support Vice President of National Publicity with projects and account management needs as directed.
• Providing direction and guidance for Junior Publicists and Coordinators on the team
Qualifications:
• At least 5-7 years experience in publicity and/or communications
• Bachelor degree in marketing, communications or public relations preferred
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work in a team
• Ability to work in a speed-of-light-fast paced environment, juggle multiple accounts, prioritize
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills to effectively interact with press, clients and all levels of internal staff
• Ability to work during normal business hours in Los Angeles office and cover occasional evening and weekend events
• Knowledge of applicable national and local press in Los Angeles and New York
• Proven track record of creative publicity campaigns that exceeded client expectations
