The Emmy Award winning All3Media America is looking for a Coordinator, Business & Legal Affairs to join its expanding internal Business & Legal Affairs Department. Reporting to the VP, Business & Legal Affairs, this role will coordinate with other internal departments and external partners to ensure the legal requirements of all productions are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in drafting and tracking of all production agreements (short and long form) in unscripted television productions (e.g., participant, showrunner, locations, materials, composer, music licenses, releases, casting notices, casting applications) as well as all aspects of the day to day production legal (e.g., casting, diligence, production agreements, credits, clearances)
• Break down contracts to disperse information as necessary to production and accounting
• Coordinate on multiple productions with production management regarding day-to-day legal needs
• Assist internal clients in resolving clearance, music licensing and guild related issues
• Maintain key information for department internal systems including, but not limited to, payment schedule obligations and editing restrictions and guidelines
• Filing registration of various documents with Copyright Office
• Prepare status reports on projects during all stages of pre-production, production and post-production
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• 1-2 years business experience in business and legal affairs in a production environment a must
• Bachelor's degree required
• JD or Paralegal Certificate preferred
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and professional demeanor
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling information and documents
• Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner
• Excellent attention to detail and willingness to take initiative; self-starter who is organized and able to work without close supervision
