We currently have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned VP of Production Finance on temp-to-perm basis. Located in the Los Angeles office, this position would be responsible for providing finance, accounting and budgeting support to A E Studio productions. This position will be a strategic business partner to A E Studios and will be an integral part of establishing, designing and implementing financial standards, workflows and processes. Specifically, this position would:
•Provide finance, accounting and budgeting support for projects in development, pre-production and post-production, including budget prep, payroll, accounts payable and location research.
•Develop production accounting processes and procedures and liaise with corporate finance to ensure all accounting procedures are in compliance with corporate and parent company accounting guidelines.
•Design and manage financial workflow including banking, foreign exchange strategy, cost reporting, cash flow projections and payments, co-production deficits.
•Create consolidated and uniform status report linked from show level to corporate amortization system, residuals payment and back-end participation.
•Have oversight and/or hiring of 3rd party accounting staff on all AES productions.
•Provide financial analysis, estimates and projections for AES Productions.
•Oversight of financial compliance with guild/union employees.
•Manage currency exchange and hedging options for AES Productions with AETN Treasury.
•Oversight and coordination of regional production tax incentive programs, including tax credit applications, audits and sale of tax credits as well as manage tax rebate administration and interface with AETN Tax department.
•Manage production cash flow and coordination with AETN Corporate Finance on AES cash flow requirements.
•Coordinate accounts payable from AES Co-Production partners.
•Interface with business affairs, business ops, post production, corporate finance and corporate program accounting.
•Assist with green-lighting process with production estimates/scenarios.
Required Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role. Extensive studio production experience with exposure to scripted programming is a must. The successful candidate will possess the following:
•In depth knowledge of studio production business and overall content cycle: production process, production and corporate finance, studio business affairs and television ancillary markets.
•Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships inside and outside the company.
•Ability to meet multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial environment with little supervision.
•Highly organized team player who successfully operates in a team-oriented setting.
•Strong communication, judgment and people skills.
•Knowledge of EPB budgeting software
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
