VP of Programming for A&E Non-Fiction/Reality Programming
Located in the New York office, this position would be responsible for identifying and developing new original content for A&E.
This position will:
•Identify and select projects that will continue to help push forward the already evolving brand.
•Aggressively seek out and develop properties that will help push the boundaries of what is currently in the marketplace for reality programming.
•Use your industry network to cultivate strong relationships within the creative community to attract talent, programming concepts and properties that will heighten the channel's lineup and library.
•Constantly stay on top of potential programming acquisitions and ideas from various sources and options material, paying particular attention to fresh concepts, trending pop culture topics and programming trends which will expand the network's audience base and increase revenues.
•Understand and utilize research to identify opportunities to create programming that strengthens viewership, enhances the brand, attracts advertisers, and broadens the network's appeal to a more diverse demographic.
In addition we are seeking a candidate with:
•An established reputation and relationships with the creative community in general, including producers and agents and a working knowledge of all production companies.
•Creative storytelling expertise, extensive experience with note giving and have command of existing production companies.
•A strong creative executive presence that possesses a strategic mind-set and has the ability to promote a collaborative environment.
•Experience at producing pilots, presentations and series is a huge asset.
•Natural leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills.
•Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Required Experience:
Required Experience:
The ideal candidate will have 5 years' experience in development, preferably focused on series in cable or television.
Experience Managing a team.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
