POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of Sr. Manager, Int'l Accounting and Finance is responsible for all of the financial reporting for the International business units. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all of the Company's accounting is in accordance with GAAP. This is a critical position within the International group. The individual in this role must have the ability to interact with both senior management and staff. They will be asked to translate what is occurring in the business and interpret the accounting and financial impact. While the ideal candidate needs to be highly organized and disciplined in their approach, they also need to be flexible to deal with changing business requirements as the company embarks on new business ventures. The person also needs to have strong analytically, accounting, managerial and interpersonal skills. The position may oversee a junior accountant in the near future.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Responsible for ensuring that all of the accounting associated with the Company's operations is in accordance with GAAP
•Oversee the consolidation process for 20 departments worldwide, two wholly owned-subsidiaries and five joint ventures.
• Ensure that all company policies and procedures are being followed with regards to accounting, accruals, budgeting, forecasting, etc.
•Coordinate timing of the monthly financial close to ensure all deadlines are met so that we can report financial results to senior management and to our partners in a timely manner.
•Prepare all balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations. Organize and lead monthly BS review meetings with the Sr. Director and SVP of International finance.
•Assist in both the interim and year-end financial audits. Includes dealing directly with the auditors on issues and with those in accounting to compile information requested. Also includes compilation of the financials and related footnotes.
•Prepare journal entries and post-close monthly analytic reports.
•Participate in the analytical review of actual vs. plan/forecast performance and prepare flux analyses for both internal and external needs.
•Analyzing financial performance to identify areas of change and/or concern.
•Work with operating managers to prepare quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets
•Foster working relationships with operational management to explain financial processes and ensure financial goals are met
•Provide both formal and informal training in accounting, accruals, budgeting, forecasting, etc.
•Manage and participate in projects to upgrade financial systems to meet changing business needs and gain additional efficiencies.
•Coordinate, process and verify all inter-company transactions have been properly eliminated
•Assist with update of reporting and processes as new entities are added
•Review and calculate certain local to US GAAP adjustments.
•Maintain communication across a global team and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Required Experience:
Education:
BS Accounting, CPA (Strongly Preferred)
Technical Skills:
Consolidation skills and accounting for Mergers & Acquisitions a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office a must, especially excel (pivot tables, v lookups, etc)
Experience with SAP and/or Computron a plus
Knowledge of foreign language
Knowledge of media/entertainment industry a plus
