Full Time Job
Responsible for the timely scheduling, dissemination, tracking and upkeep of all scheduling information and program records for Lifetime and Lifetime Real Women, acting as a liaison between scheduling and a number of key areas including: production, net-ops, ad sales, listings, on-air, standards and practices and external acquisition production companies. In addition, this position is responsible for detailed tracking and analysis of competitive programming and performance metrics. Additionally, this position will be involved with the PAC process from beginning to end.
Scheduling
a) Create and update/maintain all Air Schedules for Lifetime and LRW as well as managing all program records in PPL including formats, titles, and piece numbers. Also, participating as an active member of our Scheduling team.
b) These responsibilities entail:
• Creating and disseminating an initial monthly Air Schedule for Lifetime and LRW which net-ops then uses to physically broadcast our programs
• Making and disseminating Air Schedule revisions as schedule changes are generated by Schedulers
• Maintaining program records in PPL as far as program titles, formats, TV rating inputs, and license/rights information
• Responsible for movie and episodic scheduling utilizing research and production information to inform scheduling decisions
• Responsible for liaising regularly with Research department to closely monitor performance and trends across dayparts
• Liaising regularly with net ops and on-air to ensure correct formats for ad sales deals and promo time
• Participating in department strategy sessions and regular scheduling/programming meetings
• Contributing to inventory analysis projects as they arise
c) These responsibilities are a contribution to our overall program planning and they ensure that our programs are correctly scheduled for air and that all program records are accurate and consistent
Competitive Analysis
a) Ensure that the Scheduling department is kept up to date with all competitive programming (including sister networks) so that the information can be leveraged appropriately to maximize our own performance. This role is not limited to gathering and presenting competitive information, but rather understanding and interpreting it for the benefit of the network.
b) This responsibility entails:
• Creating and maintaining documents that contemplate our launch and series rollout dates, regularly checking and re-checking all listings and editorial sources for changes and updates
• Effectively projecting upcoming competitive programming by analyzing previous years' schedules and understanding industry trends and patterns
• Interpreting ratings performance and trends to make recommendations on best practices
• Complete ad hoc competitive analysis projects as they arise
c) A full and up-to-the-minute knowledge of the competitive landscape is crucial to our decision-making in Scheduling and this position will be our eyes and ears in this area.
PAC Process
a) Participate in the process by which new shows and renewals of existing series are considered and ultimately commissioned by working with multiple departments, including Programming, Finance, Research and Ad Sales
b) This responsibility entails:
• Working within the PAC team to review submitted PACs so that they provide the right information in a strategic format for the executive PAC meeting
• Working with Scheduling, Research, Finance and Ad Sales to create ROS's (analyses that project financial return on investments based on cost, projected ratings and projected ad sales revenue)
• Gather and interpret historical PAC information as it pertains to the current PAC cycle
3. Budget Maintenance
a) Work closely with Finance to adjust our Budget on an as-needed basis
b) This responsibility entails:
• Updating estimated premiere dates of all premiere programs on a quarterly basis
• Providing schedule analysis regarding premiere dates and play patterns when it is requested (weekly)
Required Experience:
Scheduling or Research experience
Must be able to multitask in an often fast-paced environment where multiple priorities are in play
Required Education:
Bachelors Degree
