Freelance Job
Title: International Broadcast Operations Administrator (Stamford-based, Full-Time Freelance)
Description: Provide support to the International Operations team on Global Broadcast Operations matters including new channel & tech launches, project implementation data capture & tracking, and new corporate & regional technology roll-outs. Report into the Director of International Operations based in London, work closely with A E International & Corporate Ops teams in Stamford, NY, Singapore and Italy, as well as venture & affiliate channel partners worldwide.
Responsibilities Include:
• Assist Director of Operations to launch new international channels & content delivery or other technical services, including gathering requirements, contributing to any RFPs, preparing and updating project plans & budgets, and facilitating communication between corporate & regional Ops teams.
• Work closely with International Ops (including Production & Fulfillment) to address regional technical workflow challenges; identify and implement quick & efficient solutions.
• Arrange regular calls with Global Ops teams to review technology implementations and project statuses. Identify support required from Corporate Ops to meet local business challenges.
• Insure Global Tech Ops profiles and survey information are fully updated as a key source of information for all A E businesses.
• Coordinate and contribute to all Global Technical Ops summits; review and assist in the preparation of Ops-related presentations & senior management updates.
• Contribute to Projects across the International Ops team, including business analyses, metadata capture and tracking, workflow designs, new technology implementations, vendor reviews, etc.
• Meet regularly with U.S. Broadcast Ops Coordinators, to educate them about A E Global Ops; review their SOPs and Best Practices and connect them back to the Global A E market.
• Assist in the research, planning and execution of regional office moves or new location start-ups. Liaise closely with local Ops teams and U.S. corporate Production, Operations, Engineering, Technology & Office Services to facilitate communication, track the project, and insure successful completion.
• Assess and document A E International operations workflows. Identify synergies with U.S. Ops and explore ways to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
• Contribute to the creation of the 'A E Integration Playbook', by identifying and documenting International actions required to launch new channels/services.
• Develop and maintain a 'Global Broadcast Service Provider Database' including vendor names, types of services provided, channels operated, equipment details, etc.
• Regularly update Competitive Tech Ops profiles to ensure A E International are fully across competitor activity and key industry developments and trends in technology.
Experience & Skills Required
• Experience in Broadcast Operations (for a Broadcast Channel or Service provider).
• Experience in Broadcast Content management: File transfer, storage, movement, encoding, transcoding, systems, MAM, CMS, etc.
• Understanding of broadcast workflows including production, post, transmission and distribution.
• Project management experience including launching new channels & services.
• Excellent written & oral communication, Interpersonal and Customer Service Skills.
• Ability to analyze Operations' issues and provide creative solutions to complex problems.
• Confidence, persistence and the capacity to influence internal and external partners & clients.
• Data gathering & analyses skills, including writing reports and presenting information clearly.
• Highly motivated, action focused and results oriented.
• Sharp focus on the details involved in technical operations workflows, but also the capacity to see the top line global view and business strategy & implications of operations.
