Job Description:
Lifetime Original Movie Department is currently seeking a dynamic and vibrant Fall Intern who will have the opportunity to learn how a cable television network develops and creatively oversee the production of television movies. The Original Movies department develops movies by taking pitches from outside producers or finding material in-house, developing the pitches or material with producers, selecting and hiring writers, deciding which of the competing projects will be made into movies and overseeing said projects that are approved for production. In addition, the movie department then works with scheduling, marketing, publicity, and other departments at Lifetime to ensure a successful movie premiere. We're seeking an ambitious Intern to support the team on various day-to-day administrative tasks as well as:
•Observe executives and staff as they make creative decisions.
•Attend meetings, watch dailies, learn to review and analyze scripts, and learn to write script coverage and notes, and participate on a team of assistants.
•Maintaining logs, draft pass letters, printing scripts, and learn the basics of working at a cable network.
•Enhance writing and conceptualization skills.
•Work collaboratively or independently as needed
•Possess exceptional organizational skills
Required Experience:
Candidate must be a college undergraduate who is entering their sophomore year in 2014 or graduate students having completed at least one semester of post graduate work. Student must have interest in the industry and/or a specific area of interest through past work experience, internships, and/or major course of study.
Preferably a GPA of 3.0 or higher
