POSITION SUMMARY
Provide information and insight to programming and marketing staff and A E Networks management to support program development, strategic planning, network positioning, scheduling, consumer marketing and brand extension activities.
PRIMARY DUTIES
• Meets regularly with brand leaders and senior programming and marketing
staff in order to keep them abreast of viewership/network performance.
• Fully understands the capabilities and limitations of all audience
tracking tools in order to provide rich viewership insights.
• Estimate audience performance for all upcoming programming.
• Fulfill internal requests for ratings tracking and analyses.
• Helps to design and direct primary research for programming and
marketing projects.
• Provides performance highlights of key premieres, series, and schedule
changes.
• Tracks competitive performance.
• Interfaces with sales research team on various projects such as
estimates.
• Plays a senior role in the department, fostering morale and creating a
team environment.
• Creates a library of relevant syndicated industry research sources.
• Presents research outcomes and analyses to management.
• Manage department coordinator to insure that overnight ratings
information is compiled and distributed in a timely manner.
• Works frequently with the VP, on key strategic projects.
Required Experience:
BA/BS degree and 5-7 years of television research experience at a cable or broadcast network, rep firm, syndicator, or ad agency. Strong familiarity with Nielsen data and primary research. Strategic thinking, strong writing and presentation skills are essential.
