Full Time Job
The candidate will support the VP, International Financial Planning & Analysis with a wide variety of analytical and business planning projects, including ongoing financial analysis of existing channels, off-networks sales, support of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, preparation of business plans for launches and/or acquisitions and other ad hoc projects. The position interfaces with and is highly visible to senior management.
•Review the financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) and performance of all channels honing in on financial metrics, trends and overall business health Prepare monthly regional performance reports to update senior management on channel performance.
•Analyze all programming investments to ensure that the actual Return on Investment is in line with planned profitability
•Perform a deep dive into revenue and OPEX at owned at channels identifying any risks and/or opportunities.
•Lead the 5 year planning process which is a collaborative exercise between multiple departments. The end result must be supported by divisional assumptions, clearly communicated to senior management and growth metrics in line with overall A E planning.
•Assist and lend support to the accounting group with the budget and forecast processes. Use analytics and technical expertise to identify any risks or opportunities.
•Review all channel budgets and forecasts and provide senior management with clear concise commentary as to validity and achievability of those plans including how those plan fit into A E Projections.
•Build and maintain complex business models to support potential new investments. These investments will range from channel launches and targeted business acquisitions to programming investments. Must be deft at sophisticated financial metrics such as IRR, DCF. This work must be timely, accurate clearly communicated to all key stakeholders including senior management, strategy team, legal and tax departments
•Provide analytical support on a variety of projects, such as (but not limited to) advertising sales, affiliate revenues, subscriber analysis, program acquisitions and languaging. This position also provides valuable insight over potential process improvements.
•Lend support and provide general guidance to joint venture teams in building models and investments analysis
Required Experience:
-Analytical experience; advanced knowledge of excel and access
-At least 2 years of prior experience at in banking, consulting or public accounting; 7-10 years at a large media company
-Ability to interact with a wide variety of people and departments; ability to work under stress and on a deadline
-Prior experience managing direct reports
-Prior media experience
Required Education:
BS in Finance or Accounting; MBA required
