Product Analyst (Contract)
Job Description
Job Description:
This Product Analyst is responsible for supporting product development and delivery for ASCAP's Strategic Solutions initiatives, including analysis, business process design, functional requirements to be used in design, user acceptance testing, and customer rollout and training. This person will play a key role as a liaison between internal business units, including IT and end users, as well as with outside vendors to ensure that the solutions provided align with and fully meet the business needs. This position requires a high level of analysis, relationship management, and multi-tasking.
Responsibilities:
• Conducts requirements gathering sessions, proactively drawing out requirements from stakeholders for specific projects assigned
• Performs workflow and gap analysis to identify key pain points and opportunities for improvement in current and future state
• Creates requirements definition documentation, including writing user stories and other functional specifications to reflect business needs
• Writes test case scenarios, plans testing cycles, and participates in business functional testing activities and supports execution by internal QA resources
• Supports all rollout activities including user acceptance testing, business training, documentation, user hand holding, etc.
• Provides ongoing support to the business by responding to inquiries and issues reported by users ensuring prompt resolution with minimal impact to business operations.
• Fosters productive relationships with internal clients and partners as well as external vendors
• Assists the business in defining scope and priorities for future system initiatives (new projects and ongoing maintenance)
Basic Qualifications
• Exceptional client service and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to deliver business-oriented solutions across a portfolio of projects
• Ability to successfully manage a varied workload with minimal intervention from Management
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Proven ability to support Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) and Change Management
• Familiarity with Agile methodology with ability to refine / iterate on project requirements during development lifecycle
• Possesses an understanding of current business analysis and project management methodologies, tools and techniques including use of MS Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint. MS Word.
• Experience with 3rd party packages, custom built solutions, and system integrations required.
• 3 years in Business Analysis / Business Process Reengineering (BPR)
• Familiarity with all the major phases of system development
• General Project Management

• Coding (no direct coding experience required)

• Ongoing user support and maintenance
Additional Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in technology or business a plus
• Knowledge of one or more of the following applications or areas is highly desired:
• Contract Management
• Document Management
• Rights Management
• Compliance
• 1 years in Project Management
• Entertainment, media or music industry and legal experience preferred
