ASCAP is the intersection for capturing listening data globally, including billions of data points per year from dozens of sources such as Spotify, Pandora and YouTube. This is an unique opportunity to build and present in-depth analysis about what is happening in the music industry today and what will be happening tomorrow. We want you to use your imagination to create innovative data products and capabilities to help ASCAP better serve our writers and publishers.
As a key member of Data Strategy you will collaborate with product, strategy, data science and data visualization teams to build innovative products and capabilities. Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence you will be a data analytics thought-leader in designing and developing innovative analysis that will allow internal users to make data-driven decisions faster than ever before. The Manager of Business Intelligence will also present highly technical analyses and recommendations to senior executives.
Areas of responsibility/ accountability:
• Manage and execute ad-hoc reporting, dash boarding and business analysis.
• Work with business users and senior executive leaders to provide strategic data analysis impacting our members and licensees.
• Manage and execute ad-hoc reporting, dash boarding and business analysis.
• Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
• Partner data science and data visualization teams to build high performance, interactive and self-service data solutions.
Skill-Sets
• Experience with data modeling, business intelligence tools and preferably machine platforms such as Apache Spark.
• Experience with a variety of data environments such as time series, SQL and columnar.
• Familiarity with basic statistics: statistical tests, distributions, p-value, etc.
• Familiar with Metadata Management and Data Quality Concepts
• Proven advanced SQL design and coding track record
Qualifications
• 3-5 years experience in corporate analytics-related roles
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Data Modeling, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools and technologies
• Data driven thinker with excellent quantitative and communication skills
• Proven experience creating insightful reporting and analytics
• BS / BA in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or Equivalent
