The Associate Director, Social Media & Digital Content Marketing position will be a key member of the marketing & communications team. The Associate Director's main responsibility is to define and develop ASCAP's social media editorial calendar which spans multiple channels, in balance with ASCAP's Content Strategy, with a keen eye on analytics and KPIs to monitor metrics across all platforms. The Associate Director will execute against the Content Strategy and provide reporting to be shared throughout the organization. To gain alignment across the organization, this position will collaborate with members of the marketing, product, membership, licensing, advocacy, and ISD teams to deliver social media content and develop new strategies to connect with more social media users.
The Associate Director will be responsible for researching and advocating new and/or best practices social tactics including emerging platforms. S/he will work closely to insure alignment with core editorial content on our site and manage the development and deployment of assets across social platforms in conjunction with our creative team. The Associate Director will be an integral part of ASCAP events including, but not limited to, ASCAP EXPO, awards shows, advocacy and legislative efforts, industry functions and one-off events in conjunction with our various constituent groups.
Areas of responsibility/accountability: The Associate Director's primary function is to oversee the strategic execution of ASCAP's Content Strategy across all our main social media platforms. The Associate Director will also oversee the implementation of strategy and tactics against its key events and campaigns, with a focus on developing the brand for members, licensees and sponsors.
• Develop, own and continuously improve a comprehensive social media strategy that effectively promotes our company and brand across multiple channels.
• Design and drive social media campaigns that support our business strategies – including supporting other teams and regional efforts to ensure an aligned effort.
• Define metrics and performance indicators to measure the success and impact of our social media efforts.
• Use research and data to guide our strategy and maximize our social media investment.
• Ensure that ASCAP is keeping pace with the latest social media trends and evolving with emerging technologies.
• Monitor our social media presence and promptly, tactfully and accurately engage with our members, influencers and employees.
• Implement best practices to continue to build social media and digital marketing capabilities.
• Help foster a culture of creativity, innovation and executional excellence.
• Travel required – up to 10%.
Requirements:
• Minimum Bachelors in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations, Journalism
• 5 Years full-time social media and marketing brand management experience.
• Deep knowledge of Social Media automation/analysis tools.
• Direct experience utilizing a CMS (Sitecore would be a plus)
• Good communication and organizational skills to manage a multi-project workflow.
• Deep knowledge of and passion for music across multiple genres.
• Event / campaign project management experience.
• Knowledge of brand communication, and digital marketing.
• Knowledge of web media and technology.
• Knowledge and participation in social media.
