Job Description:
The Adjustment and Distribution Analyst shares the responsibility for ensuring that Domestic and Foreign Outgoing adjustment transactions are processed correctly and on time and for managing the re-submission of incorrect adjustment requests. Additional responsibilities include distribution data analysis and statistical report development for different aspects of distribution oversight.
This position provides an opportunity to learn and apply ASCAP's Weighting Formula Rules through a 6 month intensive training program. Upon successful completion of the training program the candidate will possess specialized skills that would allow them to accurately apply the complexities of ASCAP's credit calculations.
Areas of responsibility/accountability:
Research and process adjustments to ensure that members are correctly paid for past performances. Tasks include:
• Process calculated/complex adjustments based on performance changes.
• Process non-calculated adjustments based on copyright / share picture / pay status changes.
• Research and verify automate/modeled adjustment results for accuracy and completion using tools such as Adjustment Research Tool, PREP copyright modules, Works and Member Distribution Summaries, and Member statements.
Adjustment Coordination:
• Respond to adjustment research requests for previously processed adjustments.
• Liaison with other departments on issues regarding incorrect adjustment submissions.
• Prepare weekly statistical reports to track productivity against quarterly goals.
Quarterly Domestic Distribution Review:
• Review member statements and earnings history to confirm accuracy.
• Review performance and copyright detail on a membership basis to identify potential errors/incorrect payments.
• Notify appropriate departments of corrections that need to be made.
• Monitor to ensure that corrections are made and reported quarterly.
Team Member
• Support Quality Assurance Senior Team Leader to ensure successful completion of quarterly quantity and quality goals.
• Act as back up for Quality Assurance to support distribution oversight activities.
• Support management requests for special projects.
Qualifications
and Requirements:
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel with proven ability to manage high volume of data and create/execute complex queries.
• Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills.
• Flexible and able to quickly change between priorities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Deadline driven, self-starter – ability to independently manage multiple deadlines.
