OVERVIEW OF ROLE (Scope) - This position serves as the internal business contact for Owned Original Productions. The Manager is responsible for monitoring and processing the weekly production and payroll funding for Owned Original Productions. This includes calculating the weekly payment schedules for the producers based on episodic fee and show production schedule which is then provided to the production accountant. The Manager will work closely with finance on forecasting the weekly payroll and production funding. This position will also work closely with accounting to reconcile all expenses related to the Owned Original Productions, identifying which costs are related to the production and the studio ensuring all costs are accounted for correctly. The Manager will work closely with the development department on ensuring the development steps have been delivered and payments are triggered and processed timely. The Manager will work closely with the merchandising agent on tracking all revenue received from merchandise and is responsible for generating the participants' statements.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage Owned Originals Production budget currently at $50M (including monthly and quarterly reconciliation of studio and production expenses).
2. Manage production accounting procedures for Owned Original Productions.
3. Process the weekly funding and payroll processing for Owned Original Productions.
4. Calculate payment schedules for Producers based on episodic fees and production schedule. Provide schedules to production accountant. Monitor payroll payments.
5. Work closely with development department and legal to verify appropriate development steps have been delivered and payments are triggered and paid timely.
6. Track the quarterly merchandising revenue reporting and working closely with finance on reconciling receipts.
7. Review all statements received by merchandising agent on a quarterly basis.
8. Generate the participants' merchandising statements and process all payments owed.
9. Confer with key internal departments on all pertinent information regarding contract points and budgets (including talent requirements, license terms, payment schedules).
10. Verify services rendered and milestone triggers have been met for payment processing.
11. Process and track all contractual payments for Owned Original Productions.
12. Process all Owned Original Productions vendor invoices.
13. Reconcile the Web Pac database against the general ledger on a monthly basis.
14. Prepare monthly reconciliation and provide reports to management.
15. Respond to vendor billing inquiries and resolve any payment issues.
16. Calculate and process accruals for Owned Original Productions on a monthly basis.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
1. Management Skills
a) Ability to maintain productive relations with industry contacts externally & internally
b) Fiscally responsible
c) Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
d) Ability to multitask
e) Ability to revise plans to shifting priorities
2. Technical/Functional Competencies
a) Thorough knowledge of industry standards
b) Strong knowledge in Merchandising participation and statement preparation.
c) Strong management and negotiating skills
3. Key Experiences/Achievements
a) Three to five years related experience (including production budgeting and contract administration)
b) College degree required
c) Established relationships in the industry
d) Successful management and negotiation/contractual process
