OVERVIEW ROLE
IFC TV is looking for an experienced video editor/producer to join our brand creative team! You must have the ability to craft compelling and cohesive short-form comedy based promotion for on-air, digital and sponsorship using supplied show footage and motion graphic elements, as well as, materials of your own creation. The position uses high-end motion graphics aimed at enhancing the messaging and promotional value of the spot to boost viewer retention and interest.
To be successful you will need speed and skill, a proven ability to cut for comedy, and an obsessive attention to detail. Further, the position requires a creative capacity to understand the network's ''slightly off'' brand. You will need to deliver high quality content within tight deadlines. At times you will need to work independently with minimal direction - at others you will work through the edit process alongside our creative teams, producing and editing innovative and effective promotional spots and short form content on a wide variety of campaigns. You must also have the desire and capability to assume a leadership role in shaping and refining workflows as it relates to the shared edit environment, and to act as a lead editor on high profile launch campaigns.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Create and edit short form comedy based promotional videos to promote IFC's ''slightly off'' brand
• Act as lead editor to establish the overall tone and message of comprehensive 360 campaigns for original programming launches and movie stunts
• Ability to work independently, as well as, edit under the direct supervision of producers and creative team
• Responsible for every part of the editing process from logging to assembly, final cut, titles, sound mixing and finishing
• Strong understanding of post-production workflow and the ability to refine procedures in a shared interplay edit environment
• Responsible for technical quality of all audio and video elements produced in the edit
• Work well under deadline-oriented atmosphere
• Promo writing and producing, as assigned
Qualifications
• Possess minimum of 5 years' experience as an editor, with a minimum of 2 years experience as a promo editor
• Advanced knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects and a familiarity with archiving systems such as Interplay
• Knowledge of digital media including codecs, resolutions, frame rates, contemporary cameras, and their proper handling in a post production workflow
• Experience as a lead editor on original programing launch campaigns for television
• A proven track record of creating high profile trailer work, as well as engaging and shareable social video content with a comedic sensibility
• Intricate working knowledge of new production, post-production and graphic/design developments and trends to visually keep the brand on the cutting edge of the industry
• Ability to maintain innovative, creative and on-brand, to yield compelling and effective promotional materials
• Highly creative with a clever, sharp sense of editing
• Must be meticulous, technical, and organized
• Bachelor's Degree, or equivalency in technical training preferred
