Full Time Job
Lifetime, the premier network for women, is on the hunt for a media wunderkind looking to create brand-defining, industry-rattling, envy-inducing content. A subsidiary of A E Networks, Lifetime not only produces digital content in support of its shows and groundbreaking movies, but also across a wide variety of historical, cultural and lifestyle topics. Though we reach more than 30 million unique visitors per month across platforms, we are evolving into an entertainment goliath with eyes beyond the TV set. What creative guru can help us compete in ultra-competitive waters with standout ideas that leverage all the impressive tools in our arsenal?
This newly created role oversees content creation, while liaising directly with our social and digital teams to refine the look, feel and messaging of our content, regardless of the platform it was created for. You will help cultivate a rolodex of A-list writers and talent to contribute to our platform, and set strategy around how best to amplify projects across all our departments. What content do we create that engages and grows our audience, that thinks beyond linear television?
The VP will manage the day-to-day editorial workflows of an early-stage editorial operation; in addition to editing, the role weighs in on (platform-specific) strategy, staffing, budgets and calendars.
You will also seek out dynamic storytellers and leverage a team of staff and freelance writers, multimedia producers, and photographers to create differentiated voices for each brand. You will liaise with our revenue-generating arms to cultivate opportunities.
You will work closely with the Digital product, design and tech teams, and with 45th & Dean, A E's new video production studio, and the social media team to ensure coordination across all of our content.

• A manager with a rolodex – well, iPhone contacts list – of great talent who can assemble a team of staff and freelancers.
• Someone extremely savvy about social media platforms who can work with the existing teams to delight current fans and reach new ones.
• A track record of using content and content channels (social, email, etc.) to acquire audiences.
• Success using photography, infographics, animations and other visualizations to tell stories.
• Charisma and interpersonal savvy to work with Marketing, Programming, Sales and other departments within the company; success in this job will require showing how your content vision helps multiple departments succeed at their goals.
