A E Studios, the content production arm for A E Networks, is looking for a high level creative thinker to join its creative team.
A E Studios currently has an exciting opportunity for a VP, Creative Affairs located in our Los Angeles office. This position is responsible for development and management of pilot and series production.
- Aggressively seek out scripts, talent and properties that will help establish AES as a first class production studio both internally and within the production community.
- Oversee the script development process by working with writers and producers to review, develop and approve scripts.
- Use your industry network to cultivate strong relationships within the creative community to attract scripts, talent, programming concepts and properties that will heighten the Studio's visibility and success.
- Constantly stay on top of potential programming acquisitions and ideas from various sources and options material, paying particular attention to fresh concepts, trending pop culture topics and programming trends.
- Understand and utilize research to identify opportunities to create programming that strengthens viewership, enhances the company's brands, attracts advertisers, and broadens the appeal of A E Networks to a more diverse demographic.
- Increase the visibility of the Studio by participating on industry panels, speaking to the press and attending industry specific functions.
Required Experience:
The ideal candidate will have 10 years' experience in development, preferably focused on series in cable or television. In addition we are seeking a candidate with:
•An established reputation and relationships with independent producers, directors, writers, agents, talent, and the creative community in general.
•A strong creative executive presence that possesses a strategic mind-set and has the ability to promote a collaborative environment.
•Natural leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills.
•Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Required Education:
BA or BS
