Technical Supervisor, Encoding & Fulfillment

POSITION SUMMARY
A E Networks Production Services Department is seeking a Technical Operations Supervisor within our Encoding & Fulfillment, Production Services department in Stamford, CT.
The Technical Operations Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Encoding & Fulfillment in support of end-to-end fulfillment for industry leading TV Everywhere, Video-On-Demand, Mobile, Download-To-Own and SVOD distribution partnerships both domestically and internationally.
This role would be responsible for the planning, evaluation & implementation of key infrastructure solutions & technical support workflows within the Encoding & Fulfillment department. Such projects would include, but not be limited to, our Encoding & Transcoding systems management & administration, NLE and Quality Control systems workflow support & administration, the administration of our Aspera & Signiant high-speed file delivery platforms, systems' integration with our Enterprise Media Asset Management (MAM) systems and the development and documentation of specific reporting requirements & Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) within the department.
They would be operating in service to the existing department Supervisors & Managers to ensure the continuity and furthered refinement needs of our technical processes & workflows. They will also be the primary liason between our Broadcast Engineering & I/T teams as they relate to the support & development of our existing & future technical solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelors' degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 5 years of experience in media, entertainment, interactive television, or automation systems.
• 5 years of experience building and operating infrastructure within a large corporation, with many technology teams
• 2 years in project management.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, risk and project management skills that result in the successful and timely execution of simultaneous, interdependent tasks.
• Strong understanding of digital workflows and Transcoding systems; including broadcast video formats and video codecs.
• Strong knowledge of file based work flow systems.
• Preferred knowledge of network infrastructure (SANs, routers, switches, data circuits) and datacenter operations.
• Working knowledge of IT and IP based workflows relative to non-broadcast distribution and digital video production.
• Experience with digital delivery protocols & technologies a must (FTP, SFTP, Aspera, Signiant)
