Interns in the Production Department will be privy to a variety of production documents exposing them to all facets of the infrastructure of producing a show, including call sheets, one-line schedules, production calendars, and cast lists. Interns will learn the production process from start to finish by attending internal meetings, watching cuts, reviewing production documents, and sitting in on production start-up calls. Interns will observe Production executives and staff as they make creative, financial and production-based decisions, learn to breakdown scripts, and review cuts for scripted series, minis and original movies. Interns will also get a taste of the legal aspects of Production including deal memos, option letters and all general correspondence. Day-to-day activities will include filing, drafting schedules, script break-downs, distributing department materials, preparing production templates, maintaining department charts/grids, assisting production executives with research pertaining to show development, and providing help in daily administrative duties.
The Production Department oversees all scripted programs across History, A&E and Lifetime, and this is a fabulous opportunity for an inside look at cable programming and production.
