Full Time Job
Develop data-based analytics to drive decision making by all groups within the A E Networks Distribution department. Serve as the corporate expert in VOD analytics, by informing VOD monetization strategy, developing viewership models and evaluating the performance of our brands on the VOD platform.
Distribution Analytics
Work with Distribution Sales team to develop analytics in support of specific distribution initiatives. Identify project goals, determine specific data needs, use creativity to select data and build a narrative that clearly communicates A E's position and benefits to the distributor.
• Take a lead on creating and maintaining comprehensive profiles of each of A E's traditional (MVPDs) and non-traditional (SVOD, OTT, etc.) distribution partners.
• Develop and compile standard reporting to keep Distribution team aware of viewership trends and impacts of multiplatform viewing (e.g. quarterly Talking Points, etc.) Use data from various data sources (Nielsen, Rentrak, MVPD portals, Census, Scarborough, MRI, etc.) to develop a deep understanding of each MVPD's subscriber profile and their unique viewing habits.
• Work with the Distribution group to develop Game Plans grounded in deep understanding of each distribution partner. VOD Analytics, Forecasting and Impact Serve as the corporate expert in VOD Analytics:
• Inform VOD monetization strategy. Develop DAI models, providing Ad Sales with DAI enabled D4 opportunities and transactions, as well as program and network level performance and pacing.
• Manage VOD modeling, estimates and forecasting.
• Evaluate the performance of our brands and programs on the VOD platform.
• Gain insight into competitive VOD benchmarks.
• Evaluate VOD performance by Distributor, DMA, content genre, etc.
Advanced Custom Analytics
Manage A E's working relationship with STB and advanced analytics data providers.
• Connect with various internal stakeholders (Programming, Ad Sales, Marketing, Distribution, etc.) to identify key business questions / needs across the organization.
• Work with VP, Multiplatform and Distribution Analytics to design and implement custom analytics projects to address specific business needs.
• Deliver the results along with actionable recommendations to key stakeholders.
Evaluation of Distribution Marketing Tactics
Determine the effectiveness of Distribution marketing tactics (i.e. catch-up stunts, pre-linear premieres, C3 repeats, VOD stitching) across the national, MVPD and local footprints, on both linear and VOD platforms.
• Work with Sales, Marketing, Programming and Scheduling to develop the most effective strategies for utilizing the VOD platform to drive viewership and monetization.
• Measure the impact of various implemented initiatives. Data Modeling
Conceive and create Excel-based data models in support of A E Networks' key strategic objectives.
• Create viewership models based on imperfect and inconsistent data.
• Work with disparate data from a variety of unique sources.
• Develop business rules to create consistent metrics. Qualification Requirements College graduate, MBA preferred. The qualified candidate must have minimum 3-5 years Analytics experience in media industry (distribution-related experience is a plus). Candidate must be familiar with key media measurement systems (i.e. Nielsen, Rentrak, etc), as well as secondary research sources (SNL Kagan, Forrester, etc.). Candidate must be a strategic, independent thinker focused on detail and well versed in current issues facing the industry. Excellent analytical and written communication skills are essential. Expert knowledge of Excel is a must.
