POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for directing trade marketing within A E Networks' content distribution business.
This role will provide strategic direction and management of the trade marketing team and their key stakeholders, responsible for creating and implementing the trade marketing strategy and tools ensuring that the teams' objectives and goals are aligned with the overall commercial and brand strategy of A E Networks distribution.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGY AND VISION
Work with the Head of Marketing International to define the trade marketing strategy for A E across brand and content marketing for key genres (Factual, Scripted, Formats, Movies etc.) and key titles - working closely with the VPs of Sales to ensure the marketing objectives are aligned with the overall sales strategy for each region.
Build and maintain the ''best in class'' profile of A E Networks globally as a leading distributor of high end content within the industry, agreeing style, materials/deliverables, set templates, timelines, KPIs and ensure we work in parallel with PR efforts.
PLANNING AND PRIORITIZATION
Overall territory management focus for global markets, delivery key trade markets i.e. MIPTV, MIPCOM, NATPE Europe etc. and supporting key distribution clients.
Devise a global prioritization criteria for our slate of programming, connecting our content back to revenue targets and clear KPIs and focusing levels of marketing and creative support accordingly.
Work with brand strategy to develop a clear annual global plan – and then work with local markets to deliver cogent and globally-minded goal plans
Devise and manage a global communications plan for key titles including PR and E-Mail marketing.
Trade Marketing budget management
LEADERSHIP AND TEAM
Overall management of the Trade Marketing team, ensuring objectives are clearly communicated, goals are set and team performance is constantly reviewed and benchmarked.
Senior stakeholder management and communication of strategy, plans and creative.
Oversee the departments email marketing remit, putting in place an in-house delivery system and supervising the teams' production and output in this area.
Be integral part of the global marketing network building process, creating stand out brands, global events and tent poles that drive ratings, fandom and reputation and seeking to constantly innovate and drive commercial growth in our global franchises.
Ensure international sales team's needs and timings are both clearly outlined and delivered upon. Enthuse domestic and production about international's requirements, the commercial impact we'll achieve in supporting them, plus finding more effective ways to collaborate and integrate teams.
Play a key role in building brand excellence across the international brand/marketing network; promoting a culture of continuous development and improvement, driving and facilitating a 'create great' culture across the markets, building a strong brand/marketing network that better collaborates and shares ideas plus learning, establishing common metrics, brand tools and helping to educate on the A E way of brand building.
TRADE MARKETING
Brand guardianship for all A E Networks trade marketing activities, ensuring everything is on brand and adheres to the A E Networks brand guidelines.
Manage the trade marketing advertising strategy and plan delivering 'value add' opportunities, publicity and high ROI.
Oversee and drive A E Networks' global distribution presence at key markets i.e. MIPTV, MPCOM, LA Screening, etc. Galvanize all key departments and work groups, to ensure everything is delivered on time and to brief.
Work with the Head of International Marketing on end to end strategic plans and 'always on' trade campaigns for priority titles, including launch, social media, email marketing, ongoing sales support materials etc.
Work with the Head of International Marketing to creatively push the boundaries to deliver industry leading global trade campaigns that drive revenue and build the A E brand.
Creative production – Brief and overall sign off of creative materials / brochures / MIP stands etc.
Trade digital platforms – oversee the marketing strategy for trade digital platforms i.e. sales website, offline screening, email marketing, etc. Work with the Director of Digital to ensure platform strategy is consistent with annual business & marketing objectives
Trade marketing – direct the Trade Marketing Director and the Marketing Coordinator to ensure trade advertising runs efficiently and on brief. Including creative curation, trafficking of assets to trade publications and performance analytics.
Marketing collaterals – lead the Trade Marketing Director to produce key marketing collaterals to support Sales i.e. pitch decks, brochures, one sheets, catalogues, etc.
Integrate ratings, demographics, press/PR materials, talent materials and US marketing campaign info and assets etc. into sales collateral and deliver insight/learning to both sales teams and directly with clients/partners.
Ensure our key broadcast partners are supported pre and post sales to help drive the success of our shows on their platforms – supporting them with best-in-class marketing planning and cross-media campaign delivery, plus materials and access to talent etc.
Work with sales to identify annual objectives to uplift the level of sales support across our slate of programming, ensuring materials/assets are delivered on time/in budget.
Qualification Requirements Leadership of a high performance trade marketing and creative team, preferable within media
Experience as a senior creative professional with a proven track record in cross media campaign management and a proven track record of leading and motivating highly effective, award winning creative teams
Experience in trade marketing strategy and the ability to interpret data and customer insight into robust sales messages and tools.
An understanding of international marketing and the global media landscape.
Strong strategic instincts with an understanding of customer experience methodology, branding, marketing, e-commerce and advertising; possibly with an agency background
A proven track record of bringing brands to life in disruptive and arresting ways in a highly competitive environment
Culturally sensitive, you are able to work with teams across different markets
Experience in a senior management position, successfully managing multi-disciplinary teams across various simultaneous projects
Impactful speaker and compelling storyteller with the gravitas to influence and engage stakeholders
Experience of working across various international territories
Experience of working in both multi-channel and free to air channel environments
Must possess a thorough understanding of digital landscape and have experience of developing digital products and campaigns which have gained large scale traction
The ability to tell a story that is understood by difference audiences
