QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
STAMFORD, CT
This is for the 3:00p-11:00p shift
This Technician will be responsible for the technical evaluation of Spanish and English language television programs for audio and video quality. It involves the operation of Digibeta, HDCAM, HDCAM SRW and DVCProHD playback machines. This Technician must be proficient in reading waveform monitors, vectorscopes, audio meters and must be computer literate.
Evaluate show/movie masters for technical quality, grammar and spelling. Operate various HD playback machines as well as read waveform monitors & vectorscopes. Match producer take sheets and Mediaflex as necessary with each program to confirm take sheet integrity. Utilize computerized library system and update records accordingly.
Prioritize work based on factors such as dubbing concerns, edit requests and International needs Including QC, TE of cores and International reels, per Administrator instructions.
Identify Standards & Practices potential violations and send notifications accordingly.
Attend QC department meetings and follow all procedures as assigned
Communicate with library, captioning and network managers re: specific program status as required
Coordinate with on-air librarian and library staff as necessary.
Monitor incoming emails and facilitate requests as per Manager and Coordinator instructions.
Turn cores and completed programs in to QC Administrators as ''Ready for air'' or ''Failed'', etc.or return cores to Library as failures, if necessary.
Required Experience:
Min. 2 years college
Working knowledge of HD and SD broadcast video, waveform monitors and vectorscopes. Must be extremely organized and computer proficient
3-4 years Tech Eval/QC experience in broadcast or similar high pressure environment.
Highly organized, team player, problem solver and ability to work individually with minimal supervision.
Ability to work the night shift
