The QC Technician will be responsible for the technical evaluation of Spanish and English programs prior to air. This Technician must be proficient in reading waveform monitors, vector scopes, and audio meters. Must be computer literate.
Evaluate series/movie files for technical quality, standards & practices, grammar, spelling and closed caption accuracy. Operate MediaFlex and Amberfin, as well as read waveform monitors & vector scopes. Match producer take sheets and MediaFlex with each program to confirm accuracy.
Monitor incoming emails and facilitate requests as per Lead Tech/Supervisor instructions.
QC live shows for technical quality, standards & practices, grammar, spelling and closed caption accuracy.
Attend QC department meetings and follow all procedures as assigned.
Qualification Requirements Min. 2 years college. Fluency in Spanish and English. 4 years college. B.A. Degree in TV/CommunicationsMust be highly proficient in all aspects of HD video and other media. Must be well versed in domestic and global frame rates and file resolutions. Understanding of File based workflows is necessary. Must have an excellent understanding of waveform monitors, vector scopes, audio meters and all technical specs as needed. Must be extremely organized. Must be able to quickly adapt to new technology and workflows. Knowledge of MediaFlex and Amberfin is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish.
Knowledge of post production and on-air processes. 2-4 years Tech Eval/QC experience in broadcast or similar high pressure environment. 3-5 years in post-production environment.
Highly organized, team player, problem solver and ability to work individually with minimal supervision. Able to take direction and quickly apply to needed work.
