Full Time Job
This supervisor will work with and oversee the technical personnel who provide Quality Control for A E Networks. They will communicate any problems and concerns with program materials to TE/QC, Media Asset Services, Post Production, Encompass, Broadcast Operations and Program Acquisition Services as necessary, for further action to be decided.
Required Experience:
Oversee day to day activities of the QC Technicians and equipment including operation of Mediaflex Software and Amberfin. Provide Pass/fail results to QC Dept, Media Asset Services, Scheduling, Managing Producers and Program Acquisition Services as necessary. Monitor QC schedule and queue to ensure all content is completed within deadlines.
Evaluate show/movie masters for technical quality, grammar and spelling. Operate various HD playback machines as well as read waveform monitors, vectorscopes and audio meters.
Evaluate material via MediaFlex and/or Amberfin and make notations to producers and managing producers of all potential problems as necessary to ensure that programs are acceptable and up to Network QC Standards. Research program Tech Eval status in WINMLS and Mediaflex to make sure all records are as up to date and accurate as possible.
Responsible for yearly review of staff employee(s)
Organize Program Timing information and work with the QC Network Timing Specialists to ensure that Timings and Bug notes are entered into Mediaflex and Gabriel on a timely basis and are prioritized according to airdate and Network necessity.
Maintain Master QC list and update at least once daily. Send out daily QC Report to Managers so they may assess the quality of the output of daily programs and personnel.
Turn completed programs in to library as ''Ready for air'' or ''Failed'', etc. Coordinate with on-air MAS staff.
Prioritize work based on factors such as dubbing concerns, necessity of closed captioning, edit requests and International needs including QC, TE of cores and International reels.
Required Education:
4 years college
Knowledge of post production and on-air processes. Must be highly proficient in all aspects of HD broadcast video. Must be well versed in multiple frame rates and file resolutions. Must have an excellent understanding of waveform monitors, vectorscopes, audio meters and all technical specs as needed. Must be extremely organized. Must be able to quickly adapt to new technology and workflows. Knowledge of MediaFlex and Amberfin is a plus.
3-4 years in post production environment or equivalent.
