Full Time Job
Provide research-based analysis, insight and information aimed at mainly supporting AETN Programming, Marketing and Scheduling and PR departments (and other departments as needed). Provide strategic guidance in the areas of program development, scheduling, consumer marketing and brand tracking. Keep management updated on current ratings/trends and competitive landscape. Have complete comprehension of systems available to determine viewer behavior and assist VP in designing insightful analyses that support strategies targeted at program development, potential talent, scheduling decisions, and acquisitions.
Primary point person for Analyst, including managing priorities and proper training/collaboration across systems, methodologies, general guidelines, and business etiquette. Responsible for the creation, design, and subsequent updates of all standardized reports across the department. Materials will be presented, used, and distributed in meetings with History/H2 Executive Staff members. Manager will be responsible for relaying this information in day to day email/phone communication and in select meetings.
Provide various rating/research based information and insights to a variety of internal/external personnel
Provide highlights of the performance of key premieres, series launches, and schedule changes
Assist VP in providing dynamic research presentations for senior programming and marketing teams.
Assist VP in developing primary studies for the purpose of program development and acquisitions
Required Experience:
Familiarity with basic Nielsen data and terminology.
Strong Excel skills
Solid analytical and writing/communication skills
Proficient in word/powerpoint
Knowledge of specific industry software A E Networks research subscribes to.
Experience with NPower highly desirable.
5 years of research experience at a cable network, rep firm, custom research firm, syndicator, broadcast network or ad agency
3 years specifically in television research
Strong writing skills. Ability to prioritize and manage personal time well. Ability to work well on a small team. Strong understanding of when to escalate issues to supervisors.
Experience managing priorities for an analyst or junior level team member.
Required Education:
4 years of college
Educational background in psychology, statistics, math, economics, market research.
