Broadcast production media specialist and leader in file based technical delivery practices and asset registration. Manage the process, the personnel, and all technical aspects involved with tracking every piece of incoming and outgoing media throughout the facility.
• Manage Production Media Operations team, consisting of Media Administrator and Media Coordinators. The team must coordinate with Client Services and Technical Operations daily.
• The Manager of Production Media Operations will oversee all Incoming Source Media, which includes, but not limited to, raw production dailies, raw media from marketing shoots, selects and rough cuts. The Manager of Production Media Operations will develop and manage the processes that ensure proper technical delivery of these assets, optimizing resources for efficient delivery, and internal operational asset tracking and cataloging. No piece of media enters our facility with this position managing its life throughout the production process.
• Successfully manage, execute and communicate all asset, and hard drive, database tracking for all ''Incoming'' , ''within'' and ''outgoing'' media.. Heavy emphasis on the future PAM (Production Asset Management system) and Archive system when creating current processes.
• Test, train and manage all Media Management workflows, SOPs and process documentation
• Leader for Media delivery specifications on all Pre-Production communication for Show Productions and Marketing shoots.
The Manager of Production Media Operations will encounter a myriad of challenges on any given day; Equipment malfunctions, fulfillment requests decision making, volume management for storage solutions (ISIS, Xsans and FTP), issue with direct reports, etc. Most importantly the manager will be responsible for working with the client on solving media management issues. Resolving any of the above can be accomplished by understanding the needs of the client, the staff, the team and managing their expectations. While always acting as a management representative for all facility SOPs and best practices.
Qualification Requirements TBD Educational Requirements BA/BS in Communications or related field or related vocational education.
Minimum 5-7 years in an administrative and/or supervisor role and/or pre-management role in media management for television production in a fast-paced, high volume facility.
Overall minimum experience 10-12 years in the production and/or post production business.
Ability to manage expectations of client base while adhering to Operational policies, and maintaining a customer service approach.
Expert knowledge of Avid, Interplay and Final Cut Pro NLEs, file-based workflows, asset management systems, production equipment (studio and on location) and emerging technologies.
Must be extremely proficient in all media storage solutions, tools, and industry trends.
Proficient in transcoding software and relative applications.
Ability to manage direct reports, delegating and guiding as needed. Team leadership a must.
Must be able to manage clients, their expectations and needs, while dealing with the sensitive matter of the media and their projects.
Holding firm on facility policies, even in the face of client pushback.
A company phone will be provided, and therefore the candidate must be willing to answer calls, and emails, beyond their normal working hours.
Ability to work unsupervised to provide hands-on support, guidance, and troubleshooting for media management and client support as well as communicate evolving workflows and procedures.
