Full Time Job
Position will oversee Lifetime's digital programming & marketing initiatives, focused on creating a robust line-up of content across Lifetime's digital, social and linear screens. Position will direct the overall development and production of short-form video programming, both in-house and with outside production companies.
Responsibilities include:
Create development framework for short-form content that fulfills on Lifetime's ''f-word'' mission. -
- Work hand-in-hand with the rest of the development, marketing and digital teams to shepherd our content strategy from ideation and development into a lively offering that brings Lifetime's POV into the 4th Wave feminist conversation. -
- Harness an understanding of current trends and feminist thought to inform creative ideas for content production. -
-Partner closely with social team to align priorities and messaging around the distribution and placement of content on social platforms. Similarly, work with digital teams on ensuring that content is featured on in-house digital platforms.
- Hire and oversee an in-house team of writers, producers, editors, on-camera talent, and PAs who will create topical, ''day & date'' content that speaks to our audience's passions – in a smart, informed and light-hearted way. -
- Oversee in-house and third-party production to ensure budget, timelines, and brand specifications for look and feel as well as quality standards are met. -
- Field programming requests and pitches from production companies and internal departments. Specify original programming and approve the scripts, talent and production plans. -
- Work closely with ad sales and partnerships on packaging programming for convergent (360) and digital sales. Oversee deliverables for client-driven projects.
- Confirm legal and content standards compliance with lawyers. -
- Recruit top talent, build talent and develop leaders. -
Qualification Requirements - Minimum of three years experience in programming at a broadcast or cable network, Internet property and/or production company with oversight responsibilities for multiple projects. -
- Proven track record for developing share-worthy original programming.
- Strong knowledge of TV and film production techniques from writing to scripting to editing through to shooting and post-production. -
- Track record of attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining ''A'' talent. Recognized as a leader by his or her superiors and peers. -
- Ability to effectively communicates a cohesive vision to employees at all levels and presents ideas to others in a manner that achieves clarity, buy-in, commitment, and success. -
