Full Time Job
Reporting to the GM, North Asia, the Consultant, Channel Operations, will be responsible for designing and implementing the optimal workflow across operations and transmission for History Channel Japan (HCJ). Based in Tokyo, the individual will work closely with A E Network's corporate resources in Production, Operations, Engineering and Technology to increase visibility on local business requirements and connect strategic global solutions back to the business. You should be able to perform the role independently taking consultation from the GM, North Asia and the Head of International Operations on various initiatives and project planning. You are someone who has a high degree of flexibility, can operate effectively in a very fast moving environment and has a strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments.

• Absorb current work flows across the entire Operations/Language/Transmission work flow for History Channel Japan
• Create Japanese language RFP's for the HCJ adapting from the RFP's currently in development
• Account for future growth in OTT and digital services
• Work closely with A E Networks' International Operations team to identify potential cost savings/workflow efficiencies
• Provide solutions based on knowledge of potential future market developments
• Meet with identified vendors as well as round up additional vendors where required
• Run tender process and provide firm recommendations on selected parties
• Liaise with internal legal teams on contracting with final parties
• Work with Regional and International Head of Operations to create North Asia's Operations team structured
• Identify local talent to hire as required
Qualification Requirements
• At least 5 to 8 years hands-on experience in leading a Channel Operation in Japan
• Bilingual – fluent in Japanese and English
• Conversant with current trends and technological developments
• Experience in running vendor selection processes
• Well networked individual
• Highly organized individual with a proven track record for high level of project management, project planning skills and detail orientated
