Analyst (Project)
Compile and analyze viewing data for History and their competition to fulfill daily demands of the Programming and Scheduling teams. Keep management and PR updated on current ratings/trends. Help to provide estimates to management of future program performance to assist both programming and sales in strategic decisions across varying disciplines. Fully understand systems available to determine viewer behavior and assist Managers and V.P. in designing insightful analyses that support strategies targeted at program development, scheduling, and acquisitions. Where possible, help improve analytical systems and streamline processes through knowledge of Excel and/or other related software.
• Overnight Ratings Analysis/Distribution and oversee process of program names, which is executed by department's coordinator.
• Provide highlights of the performance of key premieres, series launches and schedule changes.
• Assist V.P. in preparing dynamic research presentations for senior programming teams. Update ratings portion of operating committee presentations.
• Fulfill daily requests for ratings data to a variety of internal/external personnel.
Qualification Requirements Familiarity with Nielsen data and terminology
Strong understanding of quantitative data, math, and/or statistics.
Solid analytical and communication skills.
2-3 years in television research at a cable network, rep firm, syndicator, broadcast network or ad agency or research firm
Knowledge of specific industry software History research subscribes to. Experience with NPower highly desirable.
Educational Requirements 4 years of college Other Skills and Knowledge Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in word/excel/powerpoint
