Summary of Position:
The role is to support the VP and SVP of A E Networks Insights Group in cultivating consumer and cultural insights via the analysis of syndicated and primary research sources. Individual must be inspired to be an active participant and crave the ability to form a strong POV. Further, person should be a creative thinker who wants to not just interpret results, but also help form and design studies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Actively assist in the mining of data sets in order to create a framework for understanding how sociological forces impact content choices and marketing messages.
• Help undertake studies in which segments of the population are observed longitudinally in order to have a deeper knowledge base.
• Make active recommendation for best-in-class suppliers that A E Networks could partner with. Have a desire to facilitate relationship.
• Help mold static deliverables via suppliers into dynamic presentations; requires the ability to flourish in an active, collaborative environment.
• Ability to transform complex psychological terminology or sociological trends into insights for media executives.
• Connect the dots across platforms and media choices in order to glean insights re: greater sociological shifts and demography trends.
• Work closely with Marketing and Programming executives to identify opportunities to tackle business needs.
• Must be comfortable presenting findings internally.
• Has to be both an independent work who can determine an appropriate course of action.
• Excellent project management skills are essential, not only for their own responsibilities but also in helping Senior leaders charge through department goals.
Qualification Requirements
• Planning, fielding, and managing research projects from inception to conclusion. This includes survey design, interfacing with partners, and constructively reviewing results.
• Compiling, analyzing and interpreting information from various research sources (i.e. syndicated, primary, etc.)
• Experience working with trend-spotting companies is preferred.
• Ability to design create online custom research, including questionnaire development and providing data quality checks.
• Demonstrated ability to work with Marketing or Programming executives.
• 5-9 years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and techniques.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of the media landscape, particularly surrounding content, is essential.
• Experience and ease handling data sets, whether linear, digital or social. Knowledge of Nielsen and related software systems is not required, but additive {i.e.: Nielsen Suite (e.g. NPower, Arianna, Star Trak), MRI, MRI Fusion}.
• Experience with various research methodologies and tools and a keen understanding of when each is applicable.
• Highly organized; able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree required; masters or graduate degree highly desirable.
