92Y is seeking a driven and experienced Assistant Director to join its 92Y Talks team. Applicants with talent booking and production skills are sought to continue to produce unique and innovative programming with 92Y.
The Assistant Director, 92Y Talks will be responsible for bringing high-level talent for 92Y Talks. Through the generation, booking and coordination of high profile events, in our 900 and 300 seat programming space, this role will expand 92Y Talks constituency and increase the visibility and attractiveness of these events to potential sponsors as well as contributing to the continuing drive to increase revenue.
Essential Functions:
- Lead on new programming concept areas within 92Y Talks portfolio that both align with and scale 92Y's mission and values.
- Facilitate new relationships with guest speakers, moderators, publishers, agents, and manage and cultivate talent.
- Research and pursue opportunities for partnerships with organizations, media outlets, and corporate entities.
- Execute and project manage partner outreach, including identifying internal and external partners, managing stakeholders, efficiently navigating approval processes and liaising with Marketing regarding effective communication.
- Design packages and offerings that are attractive to potential sponsors and will lead to sustained and mutually beneficial relationships
- Liaise with Development for underwriting/fundraising/board opportunities with 92Y Talks events.
- Liaise with social media contacts, both internal and external, to leverage the content from 92Y Talks 'live' events and disseminate our brand.
- Work with 92Y Talks existing programs and relationships to maximize growth opportunities. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Education, skills and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree and/or comparable work experience within event, conference or program management arena.
- 5-7 years experience of designing and delivering successful events or conferences.
- Proven capability of managing detailed projects from conception through to delivery and evaluation.
- High-level of research and presentation skills accompanied by a strong proficiency in the use of both on-line tools and Microsoft office Suite.
- Demonstrable experience of working on simultaneous, multiple, projects.
- Ability to take initiative and research contacts.
- Work both independently as well as be part of a team.
- Commitment to the mission and goals of 92Y.
Hours of work:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10am - 7pm. Some flexibility with regards to hours will be required.
